You can...and you'll be rewarded with a delightful, chewy texture. The best way to eat honeycomb is to keep it simple:
Pair honeycomb with any type of cheese
Spread over toast, scones, or bread
Top your oatmeal with a piece
Try dipping it in a steaming cup of hot chocolate
Add a slice to a toasted cheese sandwich - add tomatoes, basil, avocado, etc.
Serve over vanilla ice cream or with yogurt
Nibble a small piece just on its own
Honeycomb and Brie on Baguette or English Muffins 1 T olive oil 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced 1 clove garlic, minced ½ t dried thyme (or herb of your choice) Salt and ground black pepper 4 pieces of baguette or English muffins 6 ounces Brie, thinly sliced Honeycomb
Heat the oven to broil.
Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat.
Sauté the onion, garlic and thyme until the onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside.
Slice each piece of baguette in half (or split each English muffin) and arrange cut side up on a baking sheet. Set under the broiler just long enough to lightly toast, about 1 minute.
Top each half with slices of Brie and a bit of the onion mixture. Place under the broiler for another minute.
Transfer the halves to serving plates, then top each with a spoonful of honeycomb.
Serve immediately.
